10 Tools Every Guy Needs

I will be the first to admit that one can never have enough tools. It’s like my wife can never have enough scrapbooking and crafting stuff, I like to argue that NO, all wrenches are not made the same and I have to have at least two of each kind. There are many tools that I would like to have, but I can’t complain about the collection I already have. I have a couple of nice tool box organizer systems, but I really need to come up with a better system. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that I have multiples of many items because I misplace them and buy another because I can’t find it. Then the one I lost magically shows up several months later. Ever had that happen?

I was thinking about how I want to organize my tools in the garage and got thinking about the top 10. There are obviously way more than 10 tools every guy needs – but if I had to pick just 10 – this is my list:

1. Hammer
2. Crowbar
3. Leatherman Multitool (this is considered a tool right?)
4. Socket Wrench Kit
5. Wrench kit
6. Impact drill with drill bits and accessories
7. Saw (I’m talking like a Chop saw or hack saw, but my favorite is a saws all)
8. Tape Measure
9. Screw Driver set
10. Mechanic with a lot of tools….seriously 😉

There are many other things I could mention like gloves, flashlight, level, chalk line, box cutter…chisels, scrapers, pliers…power tools like a table saw, jigsaw, and nail gun…the list could really go on and on so I will stop here.

My list is of course very different than the list that my wife made when I asked her what she thought:

1. Tile Saw
2. Nail Gun
3. Impact Drill
4. Box cutter

I decided to stop her there because with a list like that I know she has some kind of project in mind…I am thinking she is hinting that she wants her laundry room finished. There is always something on that honey do list right?
