I LOVE FOOD! I Love to cook it, I love to eat it! I love enjoying a beautiful looking meal by savoring everything about it. Such as the way it was creatively prepared, how it smells, to the artistic nature of how it is presented. This Steak and Cheese Omelet with veggies was especially fun to prepare and even more fun to eat afterwards.
My favorite part of cooking is seasoning the food. Seasoning can MAKE or BREAK any meal. You can prepare the most breathtaking meal that people can’t wait to dig into, but if it is overseasoned, then all that work just went down the drain.
As you can see from the pics, I incorporated broccoli into the stir fry, something I’ve never tried before in an omelet. Add whatever you like! I added onions, tomatoes, and lots of cheese. I first fried up the meat until it was almost brown with still a tint of red to it. I added the vegetables along with oil and sautéed until the onions and broccoli were soft. I added about 1/4 cup of water to keep everything from burning. All this done on medium heat. I then added Roasted Garlic and Herb seasoning, Garlic Salt, and Pepper, I covered and let simmer until the meat was cooked through. All the seasonings were added to taste. (Note: If you over season most types of food, try putting a diced up potato into the pan The potato should soak up the extra salt.) I placed the stir fried meat and veggies into a bowl and then sprayed the surface of the same pan with canola oil.
To make the Steak and Cheese Omelet, I cracked 5 eggs into a bowl and whipped the eggs until smooth. I added the eggs to the pan and let cook until no raw egg remained. Once cooked I sprinkled Montreal Steak Seasoning over the eggs.
I put the veggies and meat on one half and let the juice from the stir fry run across the surface of the eggs to the edge so that it crisped around the edge of the omelet.
Bring on the cheese! If you like broccoli and cheese you will love this omelet. (I like it for the steak and onions, but cheese always makes everything better. 🙂
Now I folded the omelet as carefully as I could without tearing the eggs. By this time I have turned down the temp to simmer.
Finished product! Not only does it look extremely colorful and appetizing, but it was easy to make. Maybe 20 minutes from start to finish.
Add some Salsa, Toast, OJ, and a side of grapes, and this is a recipe for success in my book. Enjoy 🙂 P.S. That is one MACHO omelet, and I had more than enough to share it with my hungry kidlets. Proud to be a DAD!
