“When I’m Hungry,” I tend to get moody and unpleasant. I think of myself as a big giant hungry bear looking for that pot of honey, becoming an angry hungry bear when I’m forced to wait until I get my food. I’m an avid outdoorsman, always on the go whether I’m playing golf, hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, or just sitting at the park on the grass with my kids having a picnic. One thing I’ve always made sure I have is my “pot of honey” or food that settles my mood and contains my angry hungry bear attitude. I’ve recently experienced this while playing golf. I for some reason could not hit the ball no matter how many times I swang my club. It got so bad that I tried to break my club over my knee in frustration (don’t try this at home, very painful, knee breaks, club always wins!) I then realized that I had missed my breakfast and needed a pick me up to calm my inner bear. That’s when my buddy handed me an Almond SNICKERS® bar. I tore open the package angrily raging to get that first mouthwatering bite. Upon ingestion, I felt this calm, peaceful, top of my game feeling come over me. It was like Mr. Miyagi just showed me how to catch the fly with the chopsticks. I quickly took another bite, grabbed my club, and had a perfect golf swing striking the ball to a distance that would have made even Tiger Woods jealous. Thanks SNICKERS® for being there for my inner bear.
I often have used SNICKERS® to calm my inner bear, Another experience was while playing the guitar. I love to sit next to the campfire and play for the group, however I find it difficult to strum the correct notes unless I’ve got some chocolate to munch on. I have had many experiences where I find myself in the middle of something (like painting, working on my car, fishing, or even just watching TV) and I feel myself getting irritable and not able to focus and I realize I am hungry. I don’t always have time to stop and go round up a meal, so I like to keep SNICKERS® on hand to calm my inner bear and get me feeling like myself again.
